Puri ~ Fried Round BreadsMakes 12-15
These small breads originated in India but are today made throughout the
UAE. Originally brought to the Emirates by Indian merchants, word of
their tastiness quickly caught on and soon local people were making them.
1 cup all purpose flour
Put flour and salt into a glass bowl, rub in butter with the finger tips
and add enough water, slowly, to make a pliable dough. Toll into a large
ball and cover with a wet cloth and leave aside for an hour.
