Aash-ab-yad-th ~ Boiled White Rice or Steamed RiceBoiled white rice is traditionally made daily in most local homes. Large potfulls are made and the rice served on big round or oval platters. This particular type of rice is made and served with saloona, with a barbecue dish or baked items.
8 cups boiling water
Boil water and salt, add drained rice and cover, then cook over a low heat
for 10-1 minutes. Remove lid, test a few grains of rice between the
finger and thumb. When it is slightly undercooked, drain into calender
and run cold water through to keep the grains separated.
